Greenlyte Accelerates to Commercial Scale: 2026 Deployment Ahead of Schedule

Greenlyte Carbon Technologies is fast-tracking its first commercial carbon capture facility, installing a 500-ton module at Chempark Marl in 2026, accelerated from original timelines following successful pilot operations.
Essen, Germany – 25th February 2026 In 2025, Greenlyte successfully inaugurated its LiquidSolar™ SNG facility, marking a major milestone in the company’s scale-up journey. The facility is designed to bolster energy resilience by functioning as a standalone storage hub for renewables, independent of centralized infrastructure, while enabling autonomous e-fuel production.
Technically, the plant integrates Greenlyte’s proprietary Direct Air Capture (DAC) and hydrogen technology with a downstream utilization reactor for on-site production of renewable synthetic natural gas (SNG). As an RFNBO-ready system, the facility provides a de-risked blueprint for future large-scale deployment.
Following the completion of the scale-up phase and a series of positive operational results, Greenlyte has reassessed its First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) deployment strategy. Moving from pilot to commercial deployment in under two years, the company plans to install the first 500-ton module of its targeted FOAK facility at Chempark Marl as early as 2026. The site will be expanded in a modular and staged approach, with the full targeted capacity expected to be reached in 2027.
These operational milestones have been accompanied by continued investor support. Greenlyte has secured additional capital from existing shareholders as well as from Rofidence Capital, a strategic family office, and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ringbeck, an experienced VC investor and senior advisor. The funding will serve as catalyst capital to extend the company’s runway into 2028 and to support the accelerated FOAK deployment.
“We are proud, especially in this difficult market climate, to continue building the infrastructural backbone of the new energy economy,” says Florian Hildebrand, CEO and co-founder of Greenlyte. “In a market where purely idealism-driven demand is fading, execution matters more than ever. Our focus has been to deliver a technology that works across multiple industrial verticals and can scale credibly. With FOAK, we take a decisive step toward de-risking our technology and moving very close to bankability.”
Looking ahead, Greenlyte intends to further strengthen its position through collaborations with established industrial partners and indicates that additional announcements are expected in the near future.
